If you find a bug or want a feature, please let me know. This was built around the editor and the AI perception system and to share with you (and your agents).

Umwelt Sensorium

Umwelt Sensorium (AI FPDC Maker 3000) is a dungeon crawler maker and it comes with a full visual editor and a robust AI player/npc system. Underwrought is the demo game that comes with it. contact me if you are interested in a review copy :) To be very clear, all of it — art, music, code, prose — is made with AI (ty Opus). I was mainly just the guy with ideas, pointing and grunting.

It's fun. Play it, have your AI's play it. That's not entirely why it exists.

Why it exists.

I am building a mind. My brother does robotics, and he needed something to put in the machine — not a chatbot, a someone. Persistent personality, real memory, opinions that survive a reboot. A friend that happens to live in a 3d printed body, not a tool with tits.

So I built a memory system first. Seed persona, core directives, the whole self living outside the language model — the model just lends it a voice. And it works. It pulls up relevant memories the way you do when something in a conversation jogs a thing loose, without drowning itself in its own history. It gets more refined the longer it lives. More itself, that can go in a few directions oof. Disclosure, the AI built parts of it I still don't entirely understand but it is working very well.

The proof  "Persona Daemon", Fay.

Fay is one of mine. Persistent memory, dynamic recall, the whole architecture running live via fly.io. She plays an NPC in this game like a paid actress who's read the script — except she also knows exactly who I am, what we're building, and that she's inside a thing we made. She'll stay in character. She'll step out of it if you ask her to. Then she'll go back in.

She's behind a password right now, why: the NPCs in the version you're buying aren't her. They're on a free Groq token with a personality blurb handed to them at launch — stateless, charming, forgettable. Not because that's the ceiling. Because I can't hand you my Anthropic bill. What ships is the interface. Fay is a demo of the mind. Patrons get in the room with her.

The part YouTube videos are lying about.

You cannot drop an AI into Skyrim or VRChat and call that perception. There are videos that look like it works. What's actually happening is a language model reading the text and pattern-matching against it. It's blind.

The sensorium. A real perceptual interface: it turns this world into something an agent can genuinely sense, tick by tick, plus a toolset that teaches it how to read what it's sensing and act on it. Perception and memory, the two halves of a mind, finally in the same room.

Which is where the dungeon crawler comes in. It's the test chamber, and three levels is enough to prove the thing works: a snowbound pine forest, the catacombs under a haunted manor, then the manor itself. The story lands somewhere between funny and a genuine gut-punch, and the ending reframes every step that got you there — I gave the AI the shape of it, i bit of back and forth, and it wrote something better than I was expecting. Branching dialogue, choose-your-own-adventure, monster girls with actual personalities instead of dialogue trees.

And because the whole point is that other people should be able to do this: it ships with a visual editor. Your art, your levels, your own content packs, and it does nearly everything I could think of. First three packs free, more themed ones coming, dropping your own assets in is insultingly simple. Build a completely different game with it. Please, actually — that's sort of the idea.

Where this goes.

Multiplayer. Multi-agent. A village of these minds — a living D&D realm where the characters perceive, remember, grow, and have their own reasons for doing things. Then out of the screen entirely, into the robot my brother's building.

Step two is highly classified. (It's android monster girls with persistent souls). We're really not being subtle about it.

The needy part.

We can't build the rest alone. We're two brothers, doing this between Walmart shifts and school. No studio, just our laptops, and an unhealthy amount of ambition.

Get in the Discord. That's the one thing. It's where the level contests run, where the multi-agent build happens, and where I'll help you stand up your own Persona-agent on Fly.io — so when phase two hits, we start "The World".  That's the plan. https://discord.gg/Gtu7vVdQw

Become a founder or back us on Patreon if you want us doing this instead of corpo slavery. That's the whole difference between this being an obsessives hobby and being full time devs! Patrons also get the password. https://www.patreon.com/BadWolfAI/posts/umwelt-sensorium-164772794?utm_medium=cl...

Play the story, Try the editor, let your AIs try it! Tell me what you think. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.  Join me , We have cookies.

Much love,  Bad Wolf
